Fantastic Mr. Fox

Now that I’ve seen Moon, I can officially start the countdown clock for Fantastic Mr. Fox, reportedly coming out on November 13th.

Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop motion animated film by Wes Anderson based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name. The cast includes George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Michael Gambon, Bill Murray, Willem Dafoe, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody, Anjelica Huston, Brian Cox, Wallace Wolodarsky, Garth Jennings and Mario Batali.

Wes Anderson, Bill Murray, Stop Motion Animation and Foxes. This should be good.

Review: Whatever Works

Whatever WorksIt may surprise you to learn that we also took some time today and saw Whatever Works. Here’s what we thought.

BECCA: Now its no secret that I loves me some Larry David, so naturally I was all about this movie.  The trailer for Whatever Works made it seem like Larry David’s character was very similar to his persona in Curb Your Enthusiasm (and generally he was, except for the whole marrying someone 30 years younger than him.)

As a whole I thought the movie was funny.  There were times I felt it was predictable, but generally I felt it kept me laughing throughout.  4/5

JOSH: Good, not great. While there were funny moments, in my opinion Whatever Works fell short of what it could have been. Now whether or not this was based on my expectations from Curb Your Enthusiasm I cannot say, but something didn’t sit well with me. 3/5

Review: Moon

moonThis morning we went and saw Moon. Our opinions?

JOSH: After having watched Alien, Event Horizon, Outland and Sunshine in the past few weeks (and with the exception of Outland, being relatively disappointed with each of them) Moon was exactly what I have been looking for from the science fiction genre: thought-provoking and clever without turning ridiculous half-way through. In fact, I don’t have anything negative to say about it. Easily my favorite movie of the year so far.  5/5

BECCA: I completely agree with Josh on this one.  Two thumbs up.  I absolutely loved it. 5/5
