Informal welcome message or greeting here! Cycloptop.us and Cycloptopus.com are live! If you’re not 100% certain what this is, fear not! Rebecca and I aren’t 100% certain ourselves, so we’ll figure this out together. I can tell you that we’ll be regularly posting stuff that we think is interesting. In the best-case-scenario this website turns into a blog worthy of your attention; in the worst-case-scenario this ends up being a personal catalog for ourselves to look back upon years from now and laugh at our foolishness. Either way I should warn you, you’ll experience this site best if you have some form of the Futura typeface installed.

I wanted to take a moment from packing for our big move to share the news that Futurama has been picked back up for 26 new episodes! Entertainment Weekly and Variety have both confirmed what began as a rumor on Collider.com. From Entertainment Weekly:

A spokesperson for 20th Century Fox Television confirms that the cable net has ordered 26 new episodes of Matt Groening and David X. Cohen’s late, great animated series to air beginning in 2010. The studio cites Futurama’s “blockbuster” performance on DVD and in reruns on Comedy Central as the reason for its rebirth.

Dip indeed.
