Today Josh and I traveled to lovely Arlington Heights, IL to attend Mitsuwa’s 2009 Summer Festival.

This was our third year in attendance.  The first time we went we stumbled across it by accident.  It’s held in the Mitsuwa parking lot and there are events like taiko drumming, karate performances and bon dancing.

I think the highlight of the festival for me was the karate performance. They did a bunch of different sparring moves and then a group of them performed a karate routine to the Rocky theme. It was really well done, I applaud them all.

I just realized I had yet to post this officially on the Cycloptoblog! Earlier this week my coworkers and I engaged in some epic warfare. Luckily I had my trusty iPhone with me to capture some of the action.

Becca was even there for a couple of rounds (unfortunately before I had thought to bring out the camera.) She managed to get pretty soaked before heading back to work for the rest of the day.

Fun fact: thats my boss with the shield.
